2014 Walnut City Pinot Noir La Cantera Vineyard Chehalem Mountains

Lemony Pinot Noir from Chehalem Mountains

2014 Walnut City Pinot Noir La Cantera Vineyard Chehalem Mountains

A mix of whole cluster and de-stemmed grapes, foot-tread and fermented with ambient yeast. The wine aged 15 months in 15 percent new oak. The body is light with firm acidity, and offers a fragrance of ripe tomato and raspberry. The tomato-currant mid-body finishes with red grapefruit, red currants, and lemon. Yes, it’s citrusy—not quite what one expects from a red wine. Pair it with fresh goat’s cheese, lemon-butter sauces, light poultry, ceviche.
