2013 Jordan Cabernet Sauvignon Alexander Valley Sonoma County

Balanced but youthful Alexander Valley Cabernet

2013 Jordan Cabernet Sauvignon Alexander Valley Sonoma County

A varietally labeled Cabernet Sauvignon that incorporates a quantity of Merlot plus a little Petit Verdot, Malbec, and Cabernet Franc. The fruit derives from estate and grower vineyards, and the wine was raised principally in French oak, mostly new.

It’s youthful now, still early days. The vibrant red-fruited fragrance conjures cassis, cranberries, and black bramble fruits and gets a lift from juniper and cypress. The robe is concentrated and velvet-red, and the profile balances the wine’s opulent fruit, spicy barrel notes, and firm structure. These elements feel harmonious now, but they’ll acquire more depth and complexity with a few years of bottle age.

Pair it with steak, rich stews, gratins, charcuterie.
