2016 Kim Crawford Sauvignon Blanc Marlborough

Effusively tropical, herbaceous, citric, et cetera

2016 Kim Crawford Sauvignon Blanc Marlborough

A gooseberry–key lime wine, effusively aromatic, effusively everything New World Sauvignon Blanc. Seventy percent of the fruit was grown in the Wairau Valley, with the remainder from Aware. It’s both tropical and herbaceous, suggesting gardenia and paper whites, lime peel, lemon, and fresh cut grass. The body is linear, but some residual sugar tames its sharp edges. The finish is tangy and short.

Try it with ceviche, sashimi, even fresh tomato salsa—it’ll play the role of lime juice in the mix.
