2014 Tenute Cisa Asinari dei Marchesi di Gresi La Serra Moscato d’Asti DOCG
A demure dessert Moscato, grown in the village of Cassine. The body is pale straw yellow, its quiet bubbles spiriting aromas of stone fruits and apple blossoms. Flavors of apricot and yellow peach are carried sweetly along on the palate, but despite its 131 g/L of sugar, the wine doesn’t feel syrupy or saccharine, rescued by a frizzante texture and breezy, fresh-air spirit. Serve it with salty foods—especially cheeses—at brunch, or for dessert with a smattering of roasted nuts.
